Last updated: 7 August 2026

This privacy policy explains what personal data we collect through booksandcatalogues.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have. Books and Catalogues is a brand of Eastprint GmbH.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Eastprint GmbH
Lützowgasse 14/6.OG
1140 Vienna, Austria

E-mail: info@booksandcatalogues.com

We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we are not required to do so under Article 37 GDPR. Please send any privacy-related request to the address above.

2. What we collect, and why

Quotation and contact forms

When you send us an enquiry we collect the data you enter in the form: your name, e-mail address, telephone number (optional), the product details you specify (product type, number of copies, number of pages, binding), your message and any files you attach.

Why: to prepare a quotation and answer your enquiry.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR — steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract.
How long: three years from our last contact with you. If the enquiry leads to an order, the related documents are kept for seven years to meet Austrian accounting and tax obligations.

Please do not attach files containing personal data of third parties unless it is necessary for the quotation.

Live chat

Our website offers a live chat provided by tawk.to inc. The chat only loads after you give marketing consent in the cookie banner. If you start a conversation, tawk.to processes the content of your messages, your IP address and technical information about your browser.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR — your consent. You can withdraw it at any time through the consent settings.
How long: chat transcripts are kept for up to twelve months.

Statistics and advertising

We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads. These services load only after you consent in the cookie banner. Without consent no analytics or advertising cookies are set and no data is sent to Google.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR — your consent.
How long: up to fourteen months in Google Analytics.

Details of every cookie we use are listed in our Cookie Policy.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records technical data each time a page is requested: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system. These logs are used to keep the website secure and available, and are not combined with other data.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.
How long: up to 30 days.

Spam protection

Our forms are protected by a honeypot technique that runs entirely on our own server. No data is transferred to third parties for this purpose, and no CAPTCHA service is used.

3. Who receives your data

We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under a data processing agreement:

  • home.pl S.A. (Poland) — website hosting
  • Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd — e-mail (Microsoft 365)
  • tawk.to inc. (United States) — live chat, only with your consent
  • Google Ireland Ltd — statistics and advertising, only with your consent

We also pass on the details necessary to fulfil an order to the printing houses and finishing companies that produce your project. This is limited to what they need in order to deliver.

4. Transfers outside the European Economic Area

tawk.to and Google may process data in the United States. These transfers are based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, on the providers’ certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • request access to the data we hold about you
  • have inaccurate data corrected
  • have your data erased
  • ask us to restrict processing
  • receive your data in a portable format (data portability)
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interest
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal

To exercise any of these rights, write to info@booksandcatalogues.com. We will respond within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian supervisory authority:

Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde
Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, Austria

6. Automated decision-making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects concerning you. Advertising audiences created in Google Ads are based only on data collected with your consent and do not lead to any decision about you.

7. Children

Our services are addressed to businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

8. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our services or the tools we use change. The date at the top always shows the current version.
